Richard B - Tackle Specialist in our San Rafael store - shows off one of many of the huge Humboldt squid which are being boated right now (2/05). Richard was out mid-week on the Salty Lady. Anglers are getting these monsters on squid jigs anywhere from 200 to 800 feet deep.

Winter "Catch-Up"

I've had these photos hanging around the hard drive for the past few weeks - here are a few of the fish that have been pulled during the winter:

Ok, this last one was a couple years back, but what a nice salmon! Not bad for her first day out fishing!

Once again, Carlo has been adding to the broad range of species he has landed with a fly rod. Striper Fly Fishing on the SF Bay -
San Rafael Fly Department Manaer Larry K and his son Alex get out to chase the striped bass which populate the upper SF Bay in fall. It was a beautiful shirtsleeve day, which good fishing all around. By the time they remembered to take out the camera, they got a nice shot of Alex's schoolie striper - Below, Larry and Captain John demonstrate saltwater fly casting at its smoothest -

These shots arrived during the last of the winter storms - talk about a way to inspire jealousy

Serious saltwater fly fisherman Will S. keeps teasing us with these beautiful striped bass - and that's a 55 lb tuna he hooked last year off the east coast.

Mike S.and Jim P. from our Santa Rosa store hook into well more than their share of beautiful trout. Manzanita Lake and Fall River were just two of their more recent and successful trips.

Of course, our customers do pretty well also! - Here's a collage of beautiful trout and salmon!
