Spend a full day learning the effectiveness of spey-rod casting and fishing. Learn to cast both single-spey and double-spey, from both river-right and river-left directions, as well as gain a thorough understanding of the terminology associated with spey-rod fishing. From the 12-1/2 foot 6-weight to the 15-foot 10-weight, in both the Traditional and European tapers, Sage will provide the opportunity to cast and feel each and decide which outfit best fits your needs. The class size is limited to no more than six casters so that you have the one-on-one attention that is needed to fully appreciate these incredible tools. Spey casting allows an angler to work more line with great efficiency, and is a powerful tool when faced with large rivers or tight backcast room. Equipment - Sage will provide state-of-the art equipment spey setups for you to use throughout the day! There will be wading in this class. Students will need to provide their own waders, boots & appropriate clothing for this outdoor class, as well as a sack lunch and snacks. Please note: Thanks to Sage Fly Rods for providing the equipment for this clinic. Wading is required for this clinic. Waders and appropriate wading equipment is the responsibility of the student. Attendees should have mastered basic casting techniques & be familiar with basic fly fishing equipment.
