During the last three decades, Merriman has also provided casting demonstrations, slide shows and lectures to fishing clubs, regional and national conclaves, and international sport shows. On television, she has been featured in such programs a "Fishing the West" with Larry Schoenborn and "The Back Roads of Montana" with William Marcus. In 1995, she was honored as the Federation of Fly Fishers "Woman of the Year". From 1995-1998, she served as the coordinator of the FFF's National Women's Educational fly Fishing Program, which she created and organized. In May of 1998, Merriman represented the U.S.A. fly fishers at the prestigious Chatsworth Angling Fair in England.
