Fly Tying Classes
at Western Sport Shop
Basic materials
used during fly tying class sessions are provided at no charge. However,
students must provide their own tools and vises. Materials for practice
and fly patterns made outside the class are the responsibility of the
student..
Beginning Fly
Tying
Our instructors
demystify the process of imitating and representing nature's creatures,
beginning with simple patterns, explaining materials selection and the
tying process. Whether you join the class to releive stress, learn a
new art or just catch fish, you'll learn about nature and the life cycles
of living organisms usually taken for granted. By the end of the first
session, you'll understand how to tie your own patterns at streamside
(so you'll never be "out of the right fly" again!) After the last, you'll
actually be making the most effective patterns and be ready to catch
a trophy fish on a fly you tied yourself.
